The snap can be opened to change a compatible hook while the weighted head remains attached to the soft plastic. The round body provides a compact weighted nose, while the separate hook connection allows the bait and hook to move more freely than on a fixed-hook jig head.

Thread the screw-lock keeper into the center of the soft-plastic nose until the bait sits straight against the weighted head. Open the snap, pass it through the eye of a compatible treble hook, and close the snap completely.
